during my summer holidays in wales i was lucky to see fmsas. this was my first and only ntw production i saw, certainly not the last. having made a huge impression on me and being very grateful for this wonderful experience i am posting my favourite pictures as a huge "thank you" to everybody involved.
(sadly i didn't dare to make some during the sundancer nightclub episode - the atmosphere was too intense and moving, beautiful.)…
We have developed an exciting new website as part of our work around Love Steals Us from Loneliness, the seventh of National Theatre Wales' new play, which opens in Hobo's Rock Club in Bridgend on the 7th October. The site can be found at ourbridgend.com
Our Bridgend is based on Google Maps, and enables…
Well we had a wicked rehearsal tonight at Bridgend College with an amazing group of Young People! The cast were re directed a number of times and Katie was shaking her booty about with her red rehearsal knickers round her ankles, ripping off the tops of testtube shots with her teeth and throwing them around the space...what an energy they created and what fantastic feedback and ideas they generated.
lovely to see bits of the play in front of an audience too - what a difference…
Dirty Protest's next even will be a night of plays inspired by Super Furry Animals songs.
We're appealing for mini-playlets.
If you can write a short play inspired by a SFA song, - no more than 5 lines long, there's a chance we'll stage it at our next event at the Milgi Warehouse as part of the SWN festival.
The shorter the more likely we'll stage it!
If you can tell a story inspired by a SFA song in 2 lines - we'll almost certainly use it.
Hi everyone, I'm doing an interview with John McGrath on Friday. I thought it would be great to offer the NTW community the chance to send me questions they would like to ask John. Now that NTW are at the halfway point of their mammoth first year it is a great opportunity to talk about the year so far. Please send questions to simon@simonclodefilms.com or message me on the site.
As some of you may know, this past weekend Britol hosted it's third IG fest.
After being a player last year, I decided to switch to the other side and become a character that helped you on your task to survive the zombie apocalypse.
For those unfamiliar with IG fest, it is an interactive games festival hosted by slingshot (formerly Simon games.) At each years festival there has been a big chase game with a theme. The game is played in the real world across various secret… Continue
"Working in Wales the debates surrounding independent media work are quite advanced and within those fields there is a preparedness to address issues of meaning, issues of process, issues of representation, and really get in amongst the art form, really pull it apart and analyse it, and move on into pieces of work that synthesise that analysis. That may be because if you make a film you've actually got the thing there, so you can rewatch it, and you can debate the thing. With theatre once it's… Continue

My script The Bump based on my experiences as a youth worker in Newport is being performed at The Brockley Jack Theatre, S. London on Sunday. Directed by Hugh Allison. He tells me it won't be a polished performance as the actress he wanted to work with is ill with flu and minimal rehearsal time etc but I don't care! It's the first time I've had a go at script writing and it will be so exciting to see it performed.
