Hi all, I am looking for several artists based in North Wales to be involved The Big Democracy Project. We are producing a performance/debate event (Assembly), which will take place on 4th October in Bangor.

I am interested in working with performers/poets/artists who have the ability to create and devise as part of a team. Having facilitation skills is an advantage as the event is interactive as too is the ability to speak Welsh (although this is not essential).

Producers’ Place #4: Meet The Producers: October 11th

First, it was going to be a conference, but that sounded a bit grand. So we thought it should be just a mini one. Not teeny. But definitely mini.

Then someone said it could be a hack day, but nobody else knew what that was. They were one of those cutting edge digital producers and – let’s face it – nobody knows what they get up to.

So someone else said, “What about a Producers’ Garage?” There was a pause. Then someone said, “Is that really a thing?” And…

I wrote that in 2006 as part of my masters thesis. In 2014, eight years later, I quoted one of my favourite researchers, Doreen Mattingly, in a proposal that would shape the future of my career:…
