Short Film

Anyone interested in helping to make a short (approx 30 min) film drama? It's set in a hospital ward during a night shift and is very macabre (and accurate - I've been a Nurse for 35 years).

The Good Earth 2016

Two years ago I met Rachael Boulton who had started theatre company Motherlode. She immediately captivated me with her passion, positivity and political-leanings. Motherlode like telling important stories on stage and they wanted me to help them tell those stories. I was thrilled. A chance to work with yet another incredible woman in the arts! Hallelujah. I seem to be drawn to these women doing extraordinary things. A year later, the show #TheGoodEarth…

Happiness and workshops- a volunteer’s experience at the Refugee Women’s Centre, Dunkirk

womens-centre

I’ve just returned from a few days volunteering at the refugee camp in Dunkirk. It was incredible, it taught me so much about humanity, myself and…well, workshop leading (more on that later). It was also straightforward, dare I say it even easy, at least in comparison to what I had built it up to be in my head. It was an emotional experience, at times it was hard, but really anyone…

Feel Good Friday

This week following on from last weeks blog about dreams I have been lucky enough to have Paralympian and Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson give me a quote that has inspired her since she was little. The quote is her motto and it was given to her by her grandad.

'Aim high even if you hit a cabbage' - Tanni Grey-Thompson

Now she has no idea where it came from but he always used to tell her never be afraid to try.

Myself, I got from the… Continue

How much does it cost to get a job in the Arts?

The Jerwood Foundation are trying to find out how much it costs to get started in the arts and creative sector, looking at the past 10 years.

They've put together a super short and simple questionnaire (it to me literally 1 min) -

The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning and Mametz are on the syllabus!

We are thrilled that two of the most iconic National Theatre Wales shows: The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning by Tim Price and Mametz by Owen Sheers, are now featured on the WJEC A Level Drama Syllabus.  Because of this, we spent a busy summer interviewing the various creatives involved in making these shows.

Gavin Porter and I travelled to Manchester to interview John McGrath, to London to interview Chloe Lamford and Matthew Aubrey and invited Rhodri Meilir, Nicola Reynolds,…
