Over the past couple of weeks I've been hitting the streets of Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil (and a few other nearby places) in my role as Promoter for {150}.
I've spoken to lots of lovely people who work in the shops in Aberdare, who were all keen to take some flyers to display. I've also visited lots of cool places that I'd never been to before such as Aberdare Golf Club, which is very pretty.
Today I spent some time in the sunny Asda lobby, having a chat about…

I really enjoyed working as the Promoter for Mother Courage and Her Children. So I'm very happy to be working as an NTW Promoter again, this time for {150}. Today was Meet & Greet Day, where we all gathered together to, well, meet and greet each other. Ok, so there was a little more to it than that.
After the initial meeting and greeting, Director and Creator Marc Rees talked us through the project, telling us about his creative process, the history of the project and some…

Here we go. The dress run was last night and tonight the show opens.
It was great last night to see lots of interested people stopping to have a look at what was going on and asking questions about the show. Hopefully many of them will come along to see it now their interest has been piqued.
Of course something else rather important is happening today. It seems fitting that the Mother Courage opening night is the same night as the general election - and it's…

I saw the promo clip for Mother Courage today. Have you seen it yet? It's awesome. Check it out.
Now it's May, which means that there's under a week to go until the show opens. For me, as a promoter, this is a crucial time, making sure I reach as many people as possible. It's really great when you're promoting something that you were genuinely already excited about, before you knew you'd be working on it.
If you're a resident of Merthyr, or a regular…

Over the last few days I've been speaking to lots of people in Merthyr about Mother Courage. And I'm pleased to report that there's a lot of excitement building!
On Friday I visited an A level English Lit class at The College Merthyr Tydfil to have a chat to the students. We talked about complex characters and writers who don't give us the easy option of either liking or hating a character but instead give us reasons to do both and allow us to come to our own judgement. This is how…

I'm so excited to be working as a promoter for Mother Courage and Her Children. I was excited before I saw a rehearsal because I love Brecht (he's such a dude and he, like, totally gets me) but today I went along to rehearsals and it made me so happy.
I've always loved watching rehearsals - it's so awesome to see a show coming together, all the different ideas and themes and characters growing and interweaving to make something special and coherent.
This show…
