It's been an interesting couple of days exploring the possibilities of the project with Ollie and Joanna. We started yesterday (in our lovely rehearsal space at Barry Memo) improvising and discussing characters and their stories. We then hopped on the no 95 to Ty Verlon industrial estate to meet Baz and Rhys who gave us a tour of their very own bus which is used to run arts projects with young people in Barry and Cadoxton. Thanks to Wales Lab I'm getting the chance to explore ideas for a show I want to make on board a barry bus. Over the weekend me and poet, grahame davies have been circling Barry on the no 95, taking in the sights and sounds from Dow Corning to Jackson's Bay, chatting to fellow passengers and scribbling.
Tomorrow, and for the next few days, I'll be on the buses with actors Joanna Griffiths and Ollie Wood exploring characters and improvising with poetic fragments collected by Grahame.…
