Smoke effect advice

Ho there Chums,

I am looking for a safe (non toxic) very localised smoke effect. In the old days I used the "indoor firework volcano" pellet but I can't find any of those for love nor money. Probably becaue they were made of pure heroine but still.. annoying. Does anyone have any tricks or advice on this matter?

The gag I'm hoping to achieve is:

"behind a closed door there is a loud bang - the door opens and a man stands with his clothes smoking".

What a difference a day makes.

Last Thursday I opened my new show "Something's Wrong with Abel" at Chapter, in front of an audience of folk who were kind enough to clap at the end of what I have to say was a rather "baggy" piece of theatre.
