Following on from last week I thought I'd do a double bill and continue the theme of success.
As I said last week success is an individual thing. What I see as a successful endeavour others may not and vice versa.
I recently watched the Hollywood Reporters Comedy Roundtable
and during it Ricky Gervais said the only person you need to please is yourself. And I couldn't agree more.
With that… Continue

What is success?
Myself, I believe success is individual to each and every one of us. Something that may be a success in my life may not be to someone else. We all have different goals and ambitions. It's part of what makes us unique.
That in mind I've chosen a quote from American author Og Mandino who once said
'Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough'
In whatever we do our determination to succeed should outwiegh our… Continue

When I first started these feel goods I was adamant that I was going to do it every Friday. And I can remember number 1 after Alan Rickman passed and that was 9 WEEKS AGO! As my nan would say along with many others 'where's the time going, Christmas will be here before you know it'
For those who don't know my nan, she loves Christmas
This week I have chosen to go with a man I respect fully and that man is Nelson Mandela. He said:
'The greatest… Continue

Being an avid Dr Who fan as many of my close circle will know, I watch every Saturday without fail to see what adventure the doctor (an alien) takes his companion (a human, usually a girl) on throughout time and space.
I watch for the excitement and enjoyment of Saturday night sci-fi and I do from time to time wonder about time. Just ticking away every day without fail.
With this in mind I came across a quote from the late Steve Jobs
'Your time is limited, so don’t… Continue

Have you ever been on a train and looked out of the window at the world outside? How big the world around us is?
Usually these moments happen on a weekly commute from Newport to Swansea but I see so much that makes me feel so small yet so powerful at the same time.
This week I found a quote from the Internationally celebrated writer Alice Walker.
'The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any'
In the midst of… Continue

The more I take time to just simply listen. The more I realise that people are beautiful. And that's what I have been doing lately... Listening more.. To the conversations that intertwine couples, to the heated debate between friends.
This weeks Feel Good is from Dalai Lama XIV
'With realisation of ones own potential and self confidence in ones ability, one can build a better world'
I think we never give ourselves enough credit. Simple as that.… Continue

It is Friday once more... Seven days have past again in no time at all. Like seriously we are half way through February! What's going on?
I am going to get straight in with this weeks quote and elaborate on why I've chosen it.
This week I've chosen a quote from a globally popular author called Joanne Kathleen Rowling but many of you know her as J.K Rowling. Author of our beloved Harry Potter series
'We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power we… Continue

As I look back over this week and realise I have had probably the most incredible week of my life I feel blessed and I feel privileged. Blessed to have so many strong woman in my life, blessed to have friends and family that love and care for me. Shout out to all of you! Wide and afar..
The quote I have chosen this week is from Michelle Obama and the quote sums up not only my week, but my view on life in a way. And behind every great man lies an equally if not greater woman.… Continue

As February starts I look back over January at how quick it has gone and how much inspiration I found in a short space of time. I hear the dreaded words of 'Christmas will be here in no time' lingering on the tips of selected tongues.
This weeks Feel Good is from O'shea Jackson but many of you will know him as Ice Cube.
"I think the worst thing you can do about a situation is nothing."
The reason I chose this is because this week just… Continue

Friday is upon us once more and yet again I feel it has creeped out of nowhere like a black ops recruit lurking in the shadows and pouncing.
This weeks feel good is one from Bob Dylan
'What's money? A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do'
Firstly I think we should change the 'man' to 'A person' or add woman so it's 'a man or a woman' (don't want to be gender specific) *tut tut Mr Dylan*… Continue

Before I start this week can I just say... Where has this week gone? Friday is here already and it seems like yesterday that I wrote my first 'feel good' (it was a whole 7 days ago :O)
Time needs to slow right down. I think my love and desire for a type 40 TARDIS has never been more needed than right now!
As I look back over the week and look forward to the next I have been looking for the right quote to sum up a feel good and I stumbled on this by author Joshua J… Continue

As I look forward to 2016 and my first TEAM Panel meeting tomorrow I've come up with an idea for 2016 called 'Feel Good Friday' a series of blogs every Friday with a quote from a selected famous person to take with us into the following week and inspire us as we go about our routines. Hopefully to give us motivation and maybe a little inspiration to go with that too.
I've decided to start my first 'Feel Good' with a quote from Alan Rickman as I was truly shocked and saddened by his… Continue

My name is Connor Allen and I'm a 23 year old actor from Newport. I initially got introduced to National Theatre Wales’ TEAM by auditioning and eventually winning the first ever Cardiff MonologueSlam hosted by TEAM and Triforce Creative. MonologueSlam is a competition where performers perform selected monologues in either 1 or 3 minute rounds to a panel of judges who then select a winner of each round and an overall winner. As the overall winner I had the chance to represent Wales at the… Continue

Back in May this year I competed in the first ever Cardiff MonologueSlam along with many other amazing performers. MonologueSlam is an event held all over the UK where the best performers compete with a chosen monologue in either a 1 or 3 minute round to a panel of selected judges. I am proud to say I won the event with a speech from Howard Brenton's 'Berlin Bertie' and now I go to London on December 14th to compete in the National Finals against champions from all regions of the UK. A big… Continue
