New Development Opportunities for Directors with NTW

Since the company launched it’s first programme, NTW has been supporting budding directors to gain experience and develop their practice. We believe that one of the best ways to do this is by working side by side, in the rehearsal room (or field), with more experienced professionals and observing how they make their work.

Now, for the first time, we are happy to announce two new development opportunities for directors who are ready for the next stage of their careers. And, previous…

Where are we...? Invited thoughts on WalesLab and the future of Artist Development at NTW

I've been spending the last year looking in detail at what WalesLab does, how it supports and how it contributes to the wider arts scene in Wales. As part of that work I recently asked Gerri Moriarty, an experienced facilitator and arts practitioner in to the NTW office to host a day where artists who had run WalesLab projects or been on Summercamp were asked to talk about their experiences and share thoughts on how they would like to see artists development work evolve at…

About to go on #NTWSummercamp

I’m just sitting in the calm of my living room thinking about what is in store for me and every body else who is about to go on Summercamp. From past experience I know it’s going to be full on: it will be hard work, long days, and people questioning what they do and why they do it - but I also know how quickly the time will fly past. We’ll have to find ways of checking in with ourselves to make sure we are able to really grab the moment before its gone.

Our Korean artists arrived in…

Announcing our Summercamp artists...

Way back in March we issued a call out for artists who wanted to come on this year’s Summercamp. We got over 70 applications from artists working across many different art forms. I had the unenvious task of whittling this number down to create a super group of 20, including 3 from oversees.

We have a little over 2 weeks before we set off on this almighty adventure together.

Take a look at their intro blog…

We started a number of conversations with writers who's work we have been particularly excited by recently (and that fit the rather precise criteria!). We loved Lisa Jen Brown's 'TUNA', performed as…
