We're supporting Live Art Development Agency (LADA) with another year of DIY projects.
DIY is an opportunity for artists working in Live Art to conceive and run unusual training and professional development projects for other artists.
Last year we supported a project led by Nigel Barrett and Louise Mari called 'Probing Elvis' which took a group of…

We believe that one of the best ways to develop is to spend time observing and supporting the work of more experienced individuals. And then getting stuck in.
So, in line with our year of surprises, I’m happy to announce that we will again be offering development opportunities for Directors and now, Producers too!
Emerging Directors:
This year we have got three fantastic opportunities spread across the year, for you to work with us as an emerging…

Last year I had a brilliant time working on the Summercamp in Anglesey. It served not only as an introduction to the Company (I joined NTW only 4 weeks beforehand) but also to WalesLab, Matt Ball, and the wonderful and intriguing artists we took away with us. It was also a very long overdue re-introduction to the Isle of Anglesey. Some very fond memories!
Over the past few months i've been thinking hard about Summercamp 2014; what changes we might want to make to the structure of the…

Catherine Dyson will be working at the Park and Dare Theatre all next week (24th - 28th Feb) on her WalesLab project - 'Slideshow'. Have a look at her blog post to get a sense of the themes Catherine will be working with.
We will be having a sharing of her work on Thu…

A new network, 'Producers Place', has just launched its self with the aim to foster dialogue, share ideas, offer practical support and profiling the role of the producer in Wales. The network is for any arts professional who identifies as being a producer (regardless of what their job title actually is!).
A few members have begun planning the next three sessions and will be inviting guests to talk about their experiences of producing in relation to a theme. The first of these sessions…

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been meeting with so many artists to talk about their ideas. This has to be the best part of my job - when an artist shares with you the starting point for their next artistic adventure you also find out what is important to them, as people, living in today’s society, in this world. It really is an extraordinary position to be in and I’m very grateful that people want to talk to me about it.
A few weeks ago – just before my trip to…

I’m now just about recovered from the jet lag after returning from an amazing two weeks away in Asia, and through the blur have been reflecting on what it was I experienced.
It started with a trip with the British Council to speak at PAMS (Performing Arts Market Seoul). If you’ve not been to an arts market before, imagine loads of companies, big and small, who have…

Just as we come to the end of WalesLab's second year...I thought this would be a good time to let you know about some of the changes we've been making. (And, how you can get involved!)
The biggest change so far is that we have decided to move away from issuing 'call for submissions'. As an artist applying for these things in the past, I’ve always struggled with this process. I've found it to be much more helpful…

No, i’m not talking about the new little royal but about me. I'm coming to the end of my first three months as Creative Associate for WalesLab at NTW and i thought it would be a good idea to quickly check-in and take stock.
Since I started I have been involved in so many a wondrous thing but biggest and bestest of all has to be Summercamp on Ynys Mon. Two weeks with Matt…

Back in Jan and during the NTW Yr 3 launch, I was taken by the completely mystifying mention of a DIY Festival as part of the company’s residency in Anglesey.
Since then I have joined the team as Creative Associate and as mentioned in my last blog i’m going to be working out (with you and your help) what the DIY Festival is going to be...I have loads of images in my head of cardboard boxes, gaffa tape, blackboards and megaphones, but how it will actually turn out depends on who…

Hi Everyone,
This is my first blog on the NTW Community pages and only my second day in the NTW offices. I'm here as a new Creative Associate for WalesLab. Don’t worry, Matt Ball is still here, and together we will be working over the coming months to devise, develop and deliver a truly amazing event in the WalesLab DIY festival and …
