A Good Night Out in the Valleys.......from Backstage

Hello,

Now the show is up and running I thought I would introduce myself! ......Hi! I'm the DSM on A Good Night Out in the Valleys. I've been very honoured to be a part of this production and have been feeling very proud this weekend of everyone that has been involved in its creation so I thought I would enter into the blogging community!

The rehearsal process has been an absolute joy, I've had such a good time. We've had a lovely close-knit rehearsal family and it feels a bit strange now that I am separated from the cast as I'm not in the wings during the performance but instead right at the back of the auditorium at the control position because I also operate the AV (Multi-tasking isn't it?). Amy still serenades me with her beautiful voice though which always makes me smile! On the plus side I have Mike Beer and Tom Reilly to keep me company up on control who have been amazing and I will never be able to thank them enough.

The production is technically very complicated, with so many cues and different elements (AV, lighting, soundscapes, sound effects, subtitles, a live band and many more) and everyone has been working so hard especially during production week to make sure Press Night was a perfect. Now we have all had a well deserved weekend off, its off to Blaengarw tomorrow..............
