Hi everyone

After a stint of video blogs I thought I would put a text based one up as you might be sick of the sight of me.

So the past weekend I headed to North Wales to lead a workshop in Criccith. Now any one who has tried to get to North Wales from Swansea will know how crazy your route is by rail but none the left after heading off Friday morning I was in Bangor Friday evening waiting for my National Express coach to take me on the last leg of the journey. While waiting at the bus stop I had a loverly conversation with some one called Lisa (I think it was Lisa sorry if I have got that wrong I didn't write your name down.) about her walkabout theatre act and how she might go about improving it. I think my National Theatre Wales jumper gave me away but I was having a loverly chat when a National Express coach pulls up and then takes off again so after chasing after it they stopped and explained that wasn't the coach I needed and the one I was waiting for was normally late. My coach was late and after a good half an hour of thinking I was stuck in Bangor without any cash and dieing mobile phone the coach did arrive.

When I got to Criccith the first thing I spotted was the beautiful castle all lit up so I stepped off the coach and headed to my accommodation which was run by some member of the Starlight players who were the group that I would be running the workshop for. So I arrived about 9 headed to my room and there I stayed until the next morning. I woke to get a good feed (full English) then headed off to the Memorial hall where the workshop would be being held.

The Hall was beautiful and the participants were a varied bunch all different ages, shapes and sizes which was nice but they all shared one thing. They were willing to get stuck in and give it a go. The morning session was quite physical and left people knowing that they had been working hard. The afternoon was a bit slower passed but asked participants to push them selves mentally to create a piece of work. I was really impressed with every one who took part and was glad to hear the range of things that people said they would take from the sessions.  They all got stuck in and I think a few people surprised themselves over coming some personal boundaries which is all ways good to see.

After the workshop I was whisked off to the train station to catch a train home in time for mothers day. The train was of course packed and loud and even was missing a driver at one point.

I would like to thank everyone who took part for being so welcoming and making me feel at home as well as putting there all into the workshop.

Hopefully I will see you again before not too long.

Brent
