#AMA10 The Social Marketing Revolution

So here I am sat on the train on the way back from the #AMA10 the Arts Marketing Association Annual Conference, this year the 3 day conference was held in Leeds and most of the key notes were
given in a hall dedicated to The legendary Jimmy Saville. The AMA event last year was my first

official day representing National Theatre Wales as Communications Director and the journey back was full of eager anticipation on how I would put what I had learned into practice .12 months on and things haven’t changed, I am still inspired by the speakers and just as eager to push forward some of the great ideas at this years event. This year it was slightly different in the fact that I attended as a panel guest alongside Megan the Head of Social Media at the Guardian. I discussed what it means to be an organization that has grown up in a world of openness and transparency, how it has been important for us to let go of perceived control and engage in conversation. Hopefully National Theatre Wales with our own online network provoked and inspired some debate.

I am always excited by the fact that we have launched the company during a revolution in communications the possibilities of what is achievable is changing everyday with new technologies
on the horizon that alter our lives in unique and interesting ways. We have so much to do but I believe with the support of you ‘our community’ we can really make things happen.

If you want to join in the panel discussion debate I have created a group called AMA10

Great work Matt! Am so glad the Arts Marketing Association (AMA) conference in Leeds went so well and you are inspired moving forward. We live in exciting times and organisations are facing many questions and challenges, but also some great opportunities to engage with/in their communities. I've joined your AMA10 group and look forward to hearing more about the conference and the communities thoughts ... Big smiles. Kels :-)
