Off they go in their little red hired car...
Marc Rees is a fantastic visual artist who produces exciting site-specific projects, curating the work of international and Welsh artists. This week, he is on a 5-day road trip around Welsh coastal towns with his producer, Sian Thomas. Sian is the designated driver. Marc was the designated sandwich buyer.
They are on a Creative Visit for NTW, exploring different places around the coast to find a space which could possibly inspire a large scale site-specific piece of work. This could be a potential show for our first year's programme. It could be an investigation into a piece of future work after that... We are interested to follow Marc on his discoveries. The space could be a building, a pier, a home, a hotel, a beach, a field... The important thing is that the location would inspire the work and that creation could grow out of the specifics of the place, with all its history and its community.
Marc and Sian will be blogging on here to tell us all about their road trip. If you are around the coast of Wales between now and Friday, keep an eye out... they could be at the end of a pier near you. It will be like Thelma and Louise but with candy floss and slot machines.
