Artists, Creatives, Designers of the South Asian diaspora - introducing ‘Sisters’!

(Sgrôliwch i lawr i weld hwn yn Gymraeg)

We are looking to connect with female performers, artists, creatives and designers whose cultural roots and histories are intrinsically linked and connected to the Indian Sub-continent to help us with an initial phase of research into  ‘Sisters’, a brand new collaborative project between NTW and Junoon Theatre in Mumbai.

The project will be an international collaboration between South Asian artists in India and Wales. ‘Sisters’ will create an opportunity to explore and interrogate the myths and notions of what it means to be an Asian woman today; investigating how our cultural heritage impacts on our contemporary lives and identities. What are the connections and differences between these two countries and how have they shaped who we are now? The project kicks off in the coming weeks and will culminate in a sharing of ideas and work-in progress performance in March 2018.

We’ll be holding an open house at the NTW Office on 5th June from 4pm, where we’d love to meet you, chat about what you do, and discover your connections to and stories about India. We’d like to share our developing plans for the project,  hear your thoughts and responses and explore ways in which you might be involved.  We are looking to build a creative team that will help steer the project as well as find supporters, advisors and critical friends.

If you are a performer, artist or creative who’d like to know about the project, or just want to come to the open house and get to know us, please contact Simon.coates@nationaltheatrewales.org

Rydym yn dymuno cysylltu â pherfformwyr, artistiaid, pobl greadigol a dylunwyr benywaidd y mae eu gwreiddiau diwylliannol a'u hanes wedi'u cysylltu yn eu hanfod ag Is-gyfandir India i'n helpu gyda chyfnod cychwynnol o ymchwil ar 'Sisters', prosiect cydweithredol newydd sbon rhwng NTW  a Junoon Theatre yn Mumbai.

Bydd y prosiect yn gywaith rhyngwladol rhwng artistiaid o Dde Asia yn India a Chymru. Bydd 'Sisters' yn creu cyfle i archwilio ac ymholi mythau a syniadau o'r hyn y mae'n ei olygu i fod yn fenyw Asiaidd heddiw; gan ymchwilio i sut mae ein treftadaeth ddiwylliannol yn effeithio ar ein bywydau cyfoes a'n hunaniaeth. Beth yw'r cysylltiadau a'r gwahaniaethau rhwng y ddwy wlad a sut y maent wedi llunio pwy ydym ni nawr? Mae'r prosiect yn dechrau yn ystod yr wythnosau nesaf a bydd yn dod i ben gyda rhannu syniadau a pherfformiad o'r gwaith sy'n mynd rhagddo ym mis Mawrth 2018.

Byddwn yn cynnal tŷ agored yn Swyddfa NTW ar 5 Mehefin o 4pm,  lle y byddem wrth ein bodd yn cwrdd â chi a sgwrsio am yr hyn yr ydych yn ei wneud a'ch cysylltiadau ag India a'ch straeon amdani. Hoffem rannu ein cynlluniau sy'n datblygu ar gyfer y prosiect, clywed eich barn a'ch ymatebion ac archwilio ffyrdd y gallech chi fod yn rhan bethau. Rydym yn dymuno adeiladu tîm creadigol a fydd yn helpu i lywio'r prosiect yn ogystal â dod o hyd i gefnogwyr, cynghorwyr a ffrindiau beirniadol.

Os ydych yn berfformiwr, yn artist neu'n berson creadigol a hoffai wybod mwy am y prosiect, neu eich bod am ddod i'r tŷ agored a dod i'n hadnabod ni, cysylltwch â  Simon.coates@nationaltheatrewales.org
