O What A Lovely War is our next Everyman production after the Festival. This brilliant, potent, anti-war musical is a landmark in British theatre and we are fortunate enough to be allowed to perform it in November 2014 covering Armistice week (9 -16th)
Usually performed as a full musical, we are experimenting with it as a musical play with an on stage pianist/MD, guitarist and percussionist. Keeping to the original Joan Littlewood format of unisex Pierrots and Showgirl/boy costumes, we are looking for a cast of 20 as follows:
10 actors - 5 Male 5 Female. Should be able to sing as part of an ensemble. Non dancing. Ability to undertake a number of different characters.
10 actor/singer/dancers - 5 Male 5 Female Some (not all) should be able to sing solo – the music isn’t overly complicated
MD: Lindsey Allen
Choreographer: Richard Thomas
Director: Jackie Hurley
Also needed: Wardrobe master/mistress (some costumes already ready).
Rehearsals: Any combination of Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays.
Auditions will be: Saturday and Sunday 30/31 August - further details to follow about booking an audition slot – just hold the date!
