Bosom Buddies (from Hazel to Leah)

Me and my bosom buddy.
Holding hands we took a moment to look out at the vast expanse of ocean.
It had seemed such a small thing in the beginning.
Nervous anticipation ebbed and flowed through us.
Who are we that dare to think up such things.
And then they came. A cavalcade of woman
marching down the hill towards us heads held high,
hearts in mouth, giddy with nervous excitement.
A parade of strong defiant courageous woman
ready to step beyond what they had imagined possible for themselves
ready to guide and help others take a stand.
In their presence it became bigger than the two of us.
It took on a glorious life of its own.
I held you at the centre of the woman and I felt full of love and pride.
Standing in the salty water with the other naked woman waving and calling you in.
The cheers of celebration, the liberated call of women no longer held back by fear,
calling you in to join the rabble, the gaggle, the sisterhood.
You strode in bold and beautiful.
Camera above your head,
Smile across your body.
hugging you in the cold ...sea, surrounded by women, playing and laughing
I fell in love all over again. I love you my beautiful bosom buddy.
