Bosom Buddies (from Leah to Hazel)

“To be naked is to be oneself.
To be nude is to be seen naked by others and yet not recognised for oneself.”
― John Berger, Ways of Seeing

14 September 2014 (after the Happy In My Skin, Skinny dip, Brighton!)

Dearest Hazel,

I am in a cafe, after cuddles goodbye. I am in my favourite cigarette moment, with latte and croissant! And - truly the moments to this cigarette have been a rites of passage, both personally and as bosom buddies. In some ways, I feel we have stepped outside of skin - or at least our internal genetics. We were individuals of a larger lineage - as Women defining Womanhood - Now - in this present time. I think - in spite of the madcap, mishap - oops - of it all - we carved a very special place to be ourselves - to cry in front of strangers - be tired and anxious and overly-excited - we were truly Naked!!! As I recollect myself - I feel both vulnerable and Unstoppable. So, this is a very mixed up array of vibrant thank you's - to you, my sweetest friend. You have inspired and awoke all of my senses - a true gift. So, before we continue into the next phase - I will sleep soundly -  full of ocean, in every pore, lung, nails and hair! Lots of magic to you. L*
