Call for films/animation to be screened at Landed Festival

Landed Festival (www.landedfestival.co.uk) is a music, arts and entertainment festival held in the middle of rural Wales, UK.

This year (our third) is on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of May. We still have slots available for our cinema timetable and would welcome submissions from film makers.

What are we looking for?

• Work that is entirely original.

• It can be a film or animation.

It does not have to be new or unscreened! – Landed is not a ‘film festival’ it is a festival of many arts. Our cinema is a space to showcase visual creativity – as long as your work breaches no laws it will be considered – but works that are entertaining or visually appealing are more likely to be selected than, for instance: a slow, single head shot, personal introspective.

As far as the rest is concerned it is up to you, we are happy and excited to see what you come up with. However please remember that this festival is a family orientated event and even though we are planning on showing films in a supervised area with a possible watershed for more mature content, we are more likely be able to get your work on the schedule if it is suitable for all ages.

Lastly we emphasise that ALL the work must be original, this includes (but is not limited to) the music, story / script. If long-listed, the person submitting the film will be asked to sign an agreement that they have obtained all rights and necessary permissions from everyone else who participated with the work and that they will be responsible for any form of payment charged to Landed Festival or its associates, as a result of us screening it. We will retain no rights over your film other than your permission to show it during our festival and link to it on our website.

Interested? Great!!

Email us at: enquiries@landedfestival.co.uk and include the word CINEMA in the Subject line. You can either send us a link to your work or ask for details of where to send a physical copy. Please include your name and address and any extra information to help identify you as the creator and rights owner of the film (If you include a stamped addressed envelope/jiffy bag etc. with your submission, we will return DVDs or memory sticks).

If your film is chosen to be shown at the festival we will require a DVD or a memory stick of the film in a high quality format or a link for us to download a high quality version well in advance. We will not be able to stream at the site.

If you’re in the area, there may be the option for you to talk about your film before/after it’s screened – let us know if this is something you would like to do.

Due to the large number of submissions we may not be able to reply to everyone but we will try our best. If we want to show your film, we will get back to you to organise delivery in a high quality format.

We’ll update this post when our schedule is full or we have run out of time to process submissions, so the quicker you can submit the more chance of getting shown.

Thank you for your time. We very much appreciate your efforts and talents and look forward to seeing your submissions.
