Looking for a male actor in his early 20s based in Cardiff.

Casting 'Acres of Longing' by Ad Astra Theatre Company. A theatre production that combines fantasy elements, multimedia, poetry, live music and drama to tell a story of losing one’s home and finding one’s strength. The performance tells the story of three young people who are about to lose the village that is their home due to the expansion of an opencast coal mine. To discover what being brave truly means, they have to fight an impending doom whilst wrestling with their inner demons.

Looking for an actor to play the part of COILL (any ethnicity): Coill is unhappy and angry about the state of the world and particularly about what is about to happen to his home. He’s a risk taker – he grew up getting lost in the forest on purpose and climbing trees not knowing for sure if he could get down – now he’s ready to risk everything for the cause. He likes to provoke and shock people and has to hold back a lot so that he’s not out of line.

Rehearsals to start on Zoom. When in-person rehearsals are allowed they are to be held outdoors or inside a rehearsal space in Cardiff, in accordance with Government guidelines.

We plan for the show to premiere in Cardiff in Autumn 2021 and afterwards we plan to take it to festivals - more details to follow.

No pay at this stage. However, we would be applying for funding.
