AUGUST 012- CASTING CALL

August 012 are casting their next production, OF MICE AND MEN, opening in October 2017 in Chapter.

We will be working with the play text by Steinbeck himself but also passages from the novel.

We have joined forces with Hijinx theatre company to cast a disabled actor to play Lennie Small. Mathilde Lopez will be directing, working with an excellent creative team made of regular and new collaborators.

Rehearsals are 18th September-17th October 2017
The show opens on 18th October and will be running until 28th October 2017

Some roles are already cast -Lennie Small and Slim- but we are still looking for:

-A male actor, 20-30 years old, white/mixed race, to play George Milton

-A male or female actor, white/mixed race, 25-30 years old, to play Curley, Curley’s wife and other male characters

-A male actor, 40/50 years old, black/mixed race, to play Crooks and other male and female characters

You’ll need to be happy doubling and tripling characters and interested in devising.

We will research a stage language somewhere between documentary realism and the Bible, with echoes of Sergio Leone and Little House on the Prairie.

Auditions will take place at The Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff on Wedneday 16th August all day and Thursday 17th August in the morning.

Fee meets Equity minimum. Actors should be Cardiff based unless they are willing to fund their own re location for the project. The project is supported by Arts Council of Wales and Hijinx Theatre Company.

Deadline to apply is 11th August 2017
