RED
Likely Story in partnership with Wales Millenium Centre have recently been awarded Arts Council Wales funding to support a 3 week Research and Development period on a new telling of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ for a family audience.
“Go out in the woods, go out. If you don't go out in the woods nothing will ever happen and your life will never begin.” - Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype.
In the wake of the #metoo campaign and the coming changes to the sex education curriculum in Wales, this show will explore themes of sex, consent, identity and power.
Here are a few questions we are exploring in this R&D period. If they excite you keep reading to find out the practical side of things!

ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be joining Hazel and Ellen as an ensemble member of the cast. Three performers who identify as female take on the roles of wild women/wolves of the forest telling the tale of Red. Working along side a performer musician, the cast will work creatively with a director, a physical theatre specialist, and a designer. This is a collaborative process where we plan to rigorously interrogate the material and themes set out above with a sharing of our findings to an invited audience at the end of the process.

Bydd tair perfformwraig sy’n eu diffinio’u hunain yn fenywod yn actio rhannau menywod a bleiddiaid gwyllt y goedwig, gan adrodd stori Red. Gan weithio ochr yn ochr â cherddor, bydd y cast yn gweithio’n greadigol gyda chyfarwyddwr, arbenigwr mewn theatr gorfforol, a dylunydd. Proses ar y cyd yw hon lle byddwn yn cynllunio i archwilio’r deunydd a’r themâu uchod yn drylwyr, gan rannu ein canfyddiadau â chynulleidfa a gaiff ei gwahodd ar ddiwedd y broses.
