We are looking for a performer for a 3 week devising period with a few additional dates here and there.

If you identify as female, are aged between 21-65, are interested in making work for young audiences and in working with us, then please read more about the role below.

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from people of colour and people who identify as transgender or non-binary.

RED

Likely Story in partnership with Wales Millenium Centre have recently been awarded Arts Council Wales funding to support a 3 week Research and Development period on a new telling of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ for a family audience.

“Go out in the woods, go out. If you don't go out in the woods nothing will ever happen and your life will never begin.” - Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype.

In the wake of the #metoo campaign and the coming changes to the sex education curriculum in Wales, this show will explore themes of sex, consent, identity and power.

Here are a few questions we are exploring in this R&D period. If they excite you keep reading to find out the practical side of things!

  • How do pupils, teachers and parents currently communicate about sex, consent, self respect?
  • What is the modern moral of little red, how does the story relate to today’s conversations about sex, consent, self-respect and power?
  • What do 5 year olds think Little Red Riding Hood is about?
  • In an Inner City/Urban Jungle where are the ‘safe’ paths and where are the places we shouldn’t stray?
  • How do we dramatically show the forest as a place of awakening and creativity?
  • What physical language can we develop to communicate the themes with a young audience?
  • How does the archetype of woman and wolf fit in to our telling of RED?
  • What other myths and legends talk of women, wolves and wildness?
  • Can we use verbatim stories from kids to help tell the story?

Os ydych chi’n eich diffinio’ch hun yn fenyw, rhwng 21 a 65 oed, ac â diddordeb mewn creu gwaith i gynulleidfaoedd ifanc a gweithio gyda ni, yna darllenwch ragor isod.

Mae gennym ddiddordeb penodol mewn cael ceisiadau gan bobl liw a phobl sy’n eu diffinio’u hunain yn drawsryweddol neu’n anneuaidd.

RED

Mae Likely Story mewn partneriaeth â Chanolfan Mileniwm Cymru wedi cael cyllid gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru’n ddiweddar i dalu am 3 wythnos o waith Ymchwil a Datblygu er mwyn creu fersiwn newydd o stori'r 'Hugan Fach Goch’ i deuluoedd.

“Ewch i’r goedig, ewch yno. Os na fyddwch chi’n mynd i’r goedwig, wnaiff dim byd fyth ddigwydd a fydd eich bywyd fyth yn dechrau.” - Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype.

Yn sgil ymgyrch #metoo a’r newidiadau a gaiff eu gwneud i’r cwricwlwm addysg rhyw yng Nghymru, bydd y sioe hon yn edrych ar themâu rhyw, cydsynio, hunaniaeth a grym.

Dyma ambell gwestiwn y byddwn yn eu gofyn yn ystod y cyfnod Ymchwil a Datblygu. Os yw’r rhain yn eich cyffroi, parhewch i ddarllen i ganfod mwy am y trefniadau ymarferol!

  • Sut y mae disgyblion, athrawon a rhieni yn cyfathrebu ar hyn o bryd am ryw, cydsynio a hunan-barch?
  • Beth yw neges foesol gyfoes yr Hugan Fach Goch, a sut y mae’r stori’n berthnasol i sgyrsiau heddiw am ryw, cydsynio, hunan-barch a grym?
  • Beth yw barn plant 5 oed am yr Hugan Fach Goch?
  • Mewn Jyngl Dinesig/Trefol, ble mae’r llwybrau ‘diogel’ a ble mae’r mannau na ddylem grwydro iddynt?
  • Sut y gallwn gyfleu’r goedwig mewn ffordd ddramatig a'i chyfleu fel lle sy’n deffro pobl ac yn ysgogi creadigrwydd?
  • Pa iaith gorfforol y gallwn ei datblygu i gyfathrebu’r themâu hyn i gynulleidfa ifanc?
  • Sut y mae’r archdeip o fenyw a blaidd yn cyd-fynd â’n dehongliad o RED?
  • Pa chwedlau eraill sy’n trafod menywod, bleiddiaid a’r gwyllt?
  • A allwn ni ddefnyddio straeon llafar gan y plant i’n helpu i adrodd yr hanes?

A yw'r rhestr ddarllen hon at eich dant chi?
