Are you a musician, visual artist, dancer or thespian? Do you have a great idea for an arts project but don’t know where to begin?
The Community Artists Training Scheme provides artists of all art forms with an overview of community arts practice, and highlights things to consider when preparing community-based arts projects. The scheme provides artists of all ages and experience levels, with the knowledge and skill to develop your creative ideas.
Devised by the Arts Development Teams from Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Bridgend and Rhondda Cynon Taff Borough Councils and by Head4Arts, a community arts organisation based in the South East Valleys, the training will be delivered by the team and a number of guest speakers.
Topics covered include: Starting out, Sealing the Deal, Walking the Walk, Impact/ follow up and Show me the money!
The course will run from 10am - 4pm on 21st -25th October at Llanhilleth Miners Institute, Llanhilleth. The course will cost £50 per person- lunches and refreshments will be provided.

Hi Jan,
This particular course is organised by Arts Development teams from the South Wales area, together with Head for Arts.
I would recommend getting in touch with the Arts Development team in your local area to see if there is something similar being developed.
