Day 16 - Turkish Coffee and a Vegemite sandwich - Not Nancy's Cafe, Nowhere near Ystrad Mynach

"You'd better run, you'd better take cover". Sam pushes the camera up close into Karl's face. His cigarette burning low, ash about to drop on the table. The cafe has equivalence with Nancy's cafe in Ystrad Mynach. Carl talks about being your own tour guide. He is interrupted by the Nokia ring tone. A thick layer of smoke that is somehow comforting. Strange really as I find smoking abhorrent. Smoke indoors has become an indicator of a time gone by and there is something nostalgic about it. I could easily be sitting in 1972. This is the real Krakow. I am told. Sam is recording the telephone conversation with Chris. Chris is a friend of Karl, whom we are to meet tomorrow at the Wawel. This is where we will film Karl's final shot. The climax to the film. According to his plans. Waterfall wallpaper hangs from the walls. I begin to ask myself who it is that actually cares about the change that Karl is so eager to prevent. If this is real Krakow then what was it before the advent of kitsch wallpaper? Turkish coffee is a really thick, welcome pick me up.

"My need is such, I pretend too much. I am lonely but no one can tell".
