Day 56 - Hiding Behind a Bookcase - A Hotel Room in Swansea

I spent the first part of the day shopping in Swansea. Burning up the battery on my video camera and feeling really bad about putting a book case against the hotel room door last night. I managed to work myself up into a state when I got in from the pub. I was convinced that someone was going to knock the door through and murder me. A little extreme I know. But then my experience when checking into the hotel had made me feel a little awkward. I don't know if you have seen Wolf Creek. I also left the light on and went to sleep with my phone grasped tightly in my left hand just in case I needed to dial the police pretty fast.

The problem is that, when you have convinced yourself that you have accidentally stumbled into Deliverance, there is no logical way of stopping your mind from imagining worse and worse things happening. The yale lock on the door had two screws completely removed and the a third almost entirely out. It wobbled in your hand and gave the impression that a firm shove would knock it off. Therefore I concluded that the screws had been removed with with knocking the door through in mind. And that is why I wedged a bookcase against the door.

The afternoon was spent on the bus. A far less dramatic experience.

I conclude from today that the less time i spend alone the better.
