Day 6 - End of the First Week - Aberystwyth

It's Saturday and despite not getting to bed until 3:30 in the morning I still wake up before 9. The problem with being busy is that immediately on waking a thousand thoughts enter your head and as a consequence going back to sleep isn't really an option. The first week of the project is almost over and I feel pleased with the progress that I have made. Despite much aimless wandering on Monday and Tuesday I soon found direction and the interview with Mike Pearson on Thursday along with a solid day of reading on Friday was a good start.

I call John McGrath at about 10:30 am. They are in Blackwood next week and will be running through the tech in advance of the first show. There is a little confusion about my ticket for Thursday. My travel companions are booked in but I am not. I must chase this up or come up with a conceptual strategy for documenting the performance. Possibly from outside. I am looking forward to next week and the first journey of the project. Following the call to John I send an email to Catherine Paskell. He informs me that she will be able to provide me with information about the Forum at the end of March in Blaengarw.

I also receive my first contact through the NTW community today. Alan Chamberlain messaged asking if we could meet up to discuss the project. Not only am I going to travel to parts of Wales I have never seen before, I am also going to begin meeting and working with people. Lots of them.

My laptop should have arrived back today... hopefully it will tomorrow... if not by the day after that then I might need to report the loss to the police...
