The sudden panic in question relates directly to the task that I have set myself for day 10. I have booked myself onto the 5:14am train from Aberystwyth tomorrow morning. I should arrive in Blackwood some time after 10:00am. I will then spend the day meeting people connected to the NTW and observing rehearsals before jumping back on the train and arriving back in Aberystwyth at a little before midnight.

Travelling in itself is not normally something that induces panic in me, but Carl set me the task of researching Blackwood so that I can share information with Adrian, Andrew and himself during the first half hour of the car journey to the first performance in Blackwood on Thursday night. I have decided to create a sound document of my journey and present them with a 20 sound composition in the style of Glen Gould instead of talking. As well as this I will blog every hour of the journey documenting my experience in real time. The gathering of documents will inevitably result in a mass of material and only a very short amount of time to edit it together on Thursday morning/afternoon before meeting with my companions at 4pm at the back of the Parry Williams building.

I interview an old University friend called Mark Lewis. He grew up in a town neighbouring Blackwood and he tells me that he was at the 'Stute' only last week. I begin to build up a picture of the building through his memories and experiences. He allows me to record him so I place the recorder next to my mobile phone. Mark has a great voice and through the speakerphone it suggests separation in both place and time.

Mission impossible. Bring on day 10!
