Hello Everyone,
Two places left for this great workshop leader.
Denise Gabriel : Sensory Awareness
When: July 12-13 | Where: Cardiff | Times 10 - 5:| Cost:£45 Who for: Directors & Actors
Participants will be guided through sensory exercises allowing a more deeply attuned responsiveness to the felt sensations and dynamics of breathing, gravity, energy, movement, and mindfulness. Like Zen, sensory awareness focuses on perception, in the recognition that it is only through the full experiencing of our organic life that we can grasp the task at hand and our deepest human truths.
Gabriel's four primary principles that underline the perspective in an actor's training will be related to contemporary and traditional actor techniques and movement modalities as well as individual needs of workshop participants such as: Alexander Method, Mask work and Bartenieff Fundamentals (derived of LABAN technique)
Denise Gabriel credits include : Resident Movement Director Alabama Shakespeare Festival, The Old Globe , Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Clarence Brown and Working Theatre, NY. International credits: Shanghai Theatre Academy, Salzburg Austria at Schloss Leoploidron and Artscape Theatre Center and Dance for All (Cape Town, South Africa). She is currently a Resident Movement Director with Triad Stage, a Certified Sensory Awareness Leader with the National Sensory Awareness Foundation and Theatre Professor at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Denise is also an Associate Member of the U.S Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
A session with Denise Gabriel is truly inspiring. I saw swift and significant changes in actors and a real sense of craft. A wonderful teacher. Robert Bowman Co-director Living Pictures
