National Theatre Wales: Design Assistant NHS70: As Long as the Heart Beats

National Theatre Wales are producing a site-located, theatrical journey inspired by the work of the NHS in Wales. Drawing on the stories NTW have collected from people across Wales, and in the Outpatient Department at Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport this brand new production will celebrate the dedication and care provided every day by the NHS. Featuring specially-composed music and interactive elements, co-directed by Marcus Romer and Ben Tinniswood with original music by Tic Ashfield.

NTW are looking to engage a Design Assistant to assist Set and Costume Designer Becky Davies who is designing scenic elements, dressing, props and costumes for the production.

Key Information:

We are looking for someone who has experience of sourcing props and costumes, and making design elements.
Sewing, costume fitting skills would be desirable.
The role is hands on and will involve working in the Outpatient Department where the production is taking place, the Design Assistant will need to be comfortable in a working medical environment.
As positive and creative approach to problem solving and good communication skills are essential.
Welsh Language skills are desirable.
The ability to drive and access to a vehicle are desirable.

The Design Assistant will need to be available in May and June to meet the Designer and must be available on the 21^st and 22^nd July and during the rehearsals and technical period. The Design Assistant will need to be available on Monday 23rd July to arrange or carry out returns

We can offer a fee of £1,200 for the engagement. In addition to this mileage or travel relating directly to the project will be paid or arranged directly.

Gan ddefnyddio straeon mae NTW wedi eu casglu gan bobl ledled Cymru, yn yr Adran Cleifion Allanol yn Ysbyty Brenhinol Gwent yng Nghasnewydd bydd y cynhyrchiad newydd sbon hwn yn dathlu'r ymroddiad a'r gofal a ddarperir bob dydd gan y GIG. Yn cynnwys cerddoriaeth ac elfennau rhyngweithiol a gyfansoddwyd yn arbennig, wedi'i gyfarwyddo gan Marcus Romer a Ben Tinniswood gyda cherddoriaeth wreiddiol gan Tic Ashfield.

Mae NTW yn dymuno cyflogi Cynorthwyydd Dylunio i gynorthwyo'r Dylunydd Set a Gwisgoedd Becky Davies sy'n dylunio elfennau golygfaol, gwisgo, propiau a gwisgoedd ar gyfer y cynhyrchiad.

Bydd angen i’r Cynorthwyydd Dylunio fod ar gael ddydd Llun 23 Gorffennaf i drefnu neu gludo eitemau i’w dychwelyd.

Gallwn gynnig ffi o £1,200 ar gyfer y gwaith. Yn ychwanegol, telir swm y filltir neu deithio sy'n uniongyrchol gysylltiedig â'r prosiect, neu caiff ei drefnu'n uniongyrchol.
