Chapter’s creative producer programme Coreo Cymru in partnership with Theatr Iolo and Nofit State Circus are seeking a highly experienced and established dance theatre practitioner to mentor Wales based artists and guide them through the development of work for touring.
The Development Commissions programme supported by the Arts Council of Wales’ Lottery scheme, aims to support the creation of genre specific works; new circus/dance and work for children or families. The development and creation of the work includes artistic and business mentoring and a number of presentation opportunities placing the work in front of audiences, contextualised at each stage of its development and seeking audience feedback.
The mentor’s role will be to support four work in progress projects, two in each genre, developed during June 2015 in Cardiff and presented at Wales Dance Platform on 28th June at The Riverfront, Newport. Following the work in progress presentation one project from each genre will be offered the opportunity to develop the work further for a small tour in Autumn 2015. An additional project developed during 2014 will also be supported during this stage.
The contract for services includes approximately 20 days (including travel days) spanning June to October 2015. The inclusive fee of £6,500 includes all travel expenses.
Draft Project Timetable:
Mentoring four projects
Cardiff – 2 whole days during week commencing 1 June or 8 June 2015
Cardiff – 2 whole days during week commencing 15 June or 22 June 2015
Newport – 2 days to support technical rehearsals and work in progress at Riverfront Theatre on
Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June 2015.
Mentoring three projects
Between July and October 2015, spending approximately 3 staggered days with each of the three second stage projects. Locations and dates to be confirmed.
