On Friday 29th April I had the pleasure of working with five really talented young performers (Hassan, Ali, Adam, Enbe and Fahmi) from Cardiff on an Performance/debate event at Butetown Youth Pavilion called Finding Our Future. The event was funded by the Think Tank British Future and supported by NTW TEAM. We spent a few days developing poetry around the idea of what the future holds for the young people of Butetown and surrounding areas of Cardiff.

Using the NTW Assembly format the event followed the pattern of Performance then a question or task for the audience, giving people a chance discuss with others what they think the future holds for young people.

There was a real good turn out from both the community and representatives of various arts organisations and its feels like there is a real appetite to make things happen locally, building on the success and momentum of De Gabay this could be an exciting time for young people in (South) Cardiff.
