Yesterday, the ensemble took a mini bus up to London for our first rehearsal for the NTW17 production! The bus journey consisted of sleep, getting to know eachother that little bit more and Julia filling us in on the days events; we made it to London in record time!

As soon as we entered the rehearsal room, filled with portable heaters, Mr Peter Gill himself walked up to each and every one of us indivdually, shook our hands and introduced himself; what a lovely man! We had a quick warm up with the main cast who made us feel so so welcome from the word go! :)

The first half of the day concentrated on two scenes involving the main cast and ensemble and the 2nd half allowed the ensemble to work with Peter Gill on transition scenes. He is a theatre genius; he knows exactly where everyone should be placed, how a line should be said, and the positioning of each object. His way of direction is just inspiring to watch when he is at work, and he always allows the actor to input their own interpretation. He is an all round lovely man who is genuinely interested in what anyone has to say :)

Dureing lunch, the ladies were fitted for wigs (although I was told a wig wouldn't fit me with the amount of hair I have haha!) Once again, we saw Peter's mind at work when blocking the transition scenes; they became steady and flowed perfectly from scene to scene with his direction :)

I was in such awe of both peter and the actors; this show truly is going to be incredible and I'm just so grateful to be a part of it!
All I can say is, roll on march 1st! :D x
