In the midst of Joseph rehearsals and set building I have written a 15 minute play, commissioned by Act One Drama Society to be presented as part of their staging a coup event which occurs once a year to celebrate new writing and directing. I am lucky enough to have students from Act One assisting with my production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dream Coat and loan of their power tools on occasion so this is a great opportunity to give something back to the society!

Initially written to explore the physicalisation of a car crash (there is no budget for the production so the actors are used to create the set and the sound effects) it became about retrograde amnesia following a car crash (I cannot seem to escape my Psychology degree!). However, the piece took an unexpected twist with the inclusion of a second showing of the crash where we discover the woman deliberately drove her car into the water killing her young son. I am excited to begin this project and to work out ways to get my actors to create the car and the movement of the water and the differences in these mediums.... my plan is to take rehearsals to a swimming pool!!!
