Last year we began a research project into online collaboration through our project The Studio, which is funded by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation. We started by working with four small focus groups, who used tools like the NTW community, Skype, Facebook and email to share ideas, thoughts and feedback as they began to make new work together. For some, that collaboration resulted in a project that remained online. For others, it was a starting point that eventually brought collaborators from across the country to begin to develop work together in the same room.
We think that these focus groups unearthed some really interesting ideas that are worth looking at more closely, but before going to the next stage with the project, We want to have registered interest from at least 50 participants, who are interested in helping us test the next phase of the idea.
We are now looking for artists to help us take this project to the next stage of its development. We want to create an online space that is useful for artists to collaborate and create work whilst being in different places, for either online or the real world. If you want to be part of the group that helps us to do this, then please let me know by either replying to this blog, dropping me a message, or sending me an email.
You don't need to have any particular Digital skills to get involved- just an interest in collaborating with other artists!
In a couple of weeks we’ll be in contact to tell you more about what we’re doing next with the project and how your thoughts can make a difference.
Deadline: 12noon on 6th Feb 2014
