As some of you may know, this past weekend Britol hosted it's third IG fest.
After being a player last year, I decided to switch to the other side and become a character that helped you on your task to survive the zombie apocalypse.
For those unfamiliar with IG fest, it is an interactive games festival hosted by slingshot (formerly Simon games.) At each years festival there has been a big chase game with a theme. The game is played in the real world across various secret locations in the city. This years game was called 2.8 hours later and the players task was to survive the night without being infected by the zombies.
Within the game I played the part of Shaun a survivor who helped the players get to safety inside the final location. I really enjoyed my part as I got to see lots of players who were very excited and caught up in the game, get scared by the few zombies left wandering around outside the location. It was a lot of fun and members of the general public stopped to watch the players avoid the few remaining zombies.
There was a great atmosphere and I think everyone involved had a good time. I would highly recommend to anyone with a chance to make it to come and play at the next one. After the game there is always a designated pub so the good times keep going even after the game is over.
If this sounds like something that you would of liked to of taken part in, check out ARK in the Park. ARK who previously ran the empty shop project are planing a day of games for the 2nd Oct in Cardiff. I had the pleasure of testing a few of the games and they really are a lot of fun.
Hopefully see you all on the 2nd. So you can also join the gamer generation.
