DIRECTOR APPLICATIONS 2020 - NOW OPEN - BBC CYMRU WALES & S4C
Are you an aspiring film director who’s passionate about film making? We are on the lookout for new directing talent to direct a Short film for BBC Wales or S4C.
We are looking for DIRECTORS who :
● Have a working knowledge and an understanding of the film making process.
● Are team players, that can motivate and develop a shared vision.
● Are creative thinkers, able to translate from script to screen
● Are able to think visually and conceptualise ideas
● Are able to articulate ideas to others effectively
● Are able to work with artists on developing characters
● Can communicate with an experienced production/post-production team.
● Can communicate with trainee crew.
● Can communicate with actors in rehearsals and on set.
Directors are responsible for the look and sound of a production and its technical standards. Directors will work closely with their Producer and Writer to enhance and refine original ideas into a finished film. They are responsible for ensuring that the final film is faithful to the original concept. Perspective Directors must have experience on a working set.
The successful candidates will be called for an interview, where they will be expected to pitch for one of the final chosen scripts. Filming will take place throughout Summer 2020, with pre production and preparation starting mid April.
