Following on from the discussion about Welsh work at Edinburgh I thought I'd bring this award to your attention:

Les Enfants Terribles Award 2013

The award is designed to help an exciting new company producing original work to be able to bring their show to the Edinburgh Festival - one of the greatest showcases for new theatre in the world.

The award includes :

• A cash injection of £1000

• A guaranteed slot at The Pleasance Theatre plus additional support from one of the most prestigious venues at the festival.

• Valuable mentoring from Les Enfants Terribles Theatre company.

LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES will be accepting submissions from the 1st September – 30th October 2012. Five shortlisted companies will be notified in December. In early 2013 a showcase performance will be held where each company will be asked to perform an extract of their chosen piece. The judging panel will then decide upon a winner.

APPLICATION PROCESS The award will only be open for Original pieces (newly written, devised or adapted) as opposed to productions of existing material.

1. Who are the company/individual presenting the work? (up to 100 words) – Note. It can be a company newly formed for this production.

2. What is the piece you want to produce? (Up to 200 words)

3. How do you plan to make it happen, and to raise the additional finances required? (Up to 200 words)

4. What relevant experience do you have? (Up to 200 words)

5. Why should you be awarded the Les Enfants Terribles Award? (Up to 100 words)

6. One A4 sheet of supplementary material is also allowed.
