Life in a Small-Scale Theatre Company...

So we've finally cast Return Journey. It was a really difficult series of decisions that we needed to make, but we have ended up with a great cast. We have also managed to find some people who could be great for other projects, so it was a successful day all round. By the end of the week, we have to issue contracts and establish people's availability for the performances in the summer. And if you think that is a bit previous, then we've been trying to get our heads round the fact that we are also taking bookings for the Christmas show!

While Return Journey is coming together, we are also putting together the creative team for our research and development project on Aberystwyth Mon Amour. The director and writer (Abigail Anderson and Malcolm Pryce) have been working on the first draft and we have been getting our designer and sound designer in place; it looks like we've managed it...At the same time, we have been working on the image and the brochure copy for the public test readings in July. The next big moment is to read the first draft - can't wait.

Our focus is slightly changing tomorrow however; rehearsals for one of our pub tours next week. Tankers, Tugs and Banana Boats will start in The No Sign Bar in Swansea at 7.30 next Monday and we are working in a new actor. Good luck to Piers Morgan-Harvey; he won't need it...
