Life in a Small-Scale Theatre Company...

Over the last few weeks, we have had fun. Quite a lot of fun to be honest. Slowly, but surely the Dylan Thomas Centenary has been taking shape and our contributions have gone well. We have been lucky enough to realise that completely by chance all of our contributions have been in pubs...We have done pub tours in Mumbles and Swansea and a succession of Poems and Pints afternoons in the vicinity too. They have all been well-attended and luckily enough, well-received too. We have a Poems and Pints afternoon this weekend on Sunday in The Pilot in Mumbles; looking forward to it.

However, we are moving back into theatres and halls this week...Our first performance of Reminiscences of Childhood is this Friday at St. John's Church, Carmarthen. We are welcoming a new singer in Bronwen Beckett, who has been rehearsing with us this week. She's great, and it has been great getting back into the swing of things. It is very easy in a celebratory year to be over-powered with things...'what, a bit MORE Dylan Thomas'!...but every time we delve into Reminiscences you remember why he is so popular. Great stuff. This is the first of several performances throughout the year.

And while all this is going on, Malcolm and Abi have been working hard on the first draft of Aberystywth Mon Amour. We shall start planning the first read through soon...
