***Living Willow Theatre Family Shakespeare Festival selling fast ***The Factory, Tim Caroll, Germaine Greer and much, much more. THIS WEEKEND *****

The Family Shakespeare Festival takes place at the Living Willow Theatre this weekend from the 2nd to the 4th July – a weekend about families forfamilies using dance, drama, music, workshops and talks to explore this current hot topic. The festival features workshops and talks from Tim Caroll, Andrew St George and many more.

The Factory Theatre Company will be giving a full weekend contribution with 'The Seagull'on Saturday and 'As You Like It' on Sunday as well as offering a performance element to workshops and discussions. If you have not seen this company before, these performances are either improvised using the English translations as a basis (The Seagull) In this way a 'new translation' emerges each night, in the moment. In the case of 'As You Like it' the parts will be learned but unrehearsed. All set and costume are sourced from the audience or the theatre it's self. Their work is spontaneous and exhilarating to watch. It's exciting also to be welcoming mid-Powys actress Leila Crerar back to the area as part of the company.

Germaine Greer, controversial, agenda-setting author and acclaimed academic, will be headling to talk about her book “Shakespeare’s Wife” on the evening of Saturday 3 July.

After her talk, Germaine will hold a question and answer session which naturally spreads to cover almost any subject Professor Greer has written on in her long career! This will be followed with a late night performance of ''Let's Cycle to the stars...shall we?'' by local theatre maker Aimee Corbett, a performance powered entirely by bicycle!

This will be a truly wonderful weekend and a chance to access some incredible professionals alongside some wonderful community performances. The enchanting Living Willow Theatre is set in the stunningly beautiful Upper Wye valley and offers camping, a magical new nature trail and Shakespeare reference library. There will be a bar and gorgeous food available all weekend. If you have not visited the Living Willow Theatre before, this is the weekend to come!
