Angel-C, Clare Parry-Jones (clown-artist),L.M.H.C. (visual artist), Chris Young (audio/sonic artist) Monday 21st 7-8pm, Angel-C, St Anne’s Church

A visual, sound and performance installation, inspired by live interventions between the clown, Clare Parry-Jones, and the sea, beach and neolithic burial chambers, documented by L.M.H.C. (visual artist) and Chris Young (sound artist), with additional photography by Clare. The live interventions are an exploration of saying goodbye to a loved one, and a dream - an exploration of loss and the cycle of grief. It is also an honouring of the natural cycle of life, both in human terms and within our natural environment. The portal of the neolithic burial chamber, where this collaboration began, faces West, in alignment with the setting sun; a dark chamber to focus on rituals of loss, celebration of life, and preparation for the future life, echoed by the diminished daylight, onset of night and subsequent dawn of a new day. Angel-C is an invitation to take part in and/or observe this ritual and performance - to write a message to someone, or something, that has left your life, or that you wish to say goodbye to; a chance to reflect upon this, and let it go. The space created gives room for new life and opportunities.

We also have a wonderful Clown workshop by Luana Dee happening on Saturday 19th , 10am, Penylan Library & Community Centre

DISCOVER THE CLOWN WITHIN - TAKING HEART

Through clowning we connect to our playful spirit to develop and sustain the heart to be who we truly are, to trust life and ourselves. The workshop nurtures the inner process to overcome the fears that block us from being fully present in the here and now.
Open to adults seeking to be more spontaneous in their communication with others in their work or personal life.

There are no routines or gags, but a personal journey to finding one's own unique clown by connecting playfully with what makes us most vulnerable. The exercises are done in the lightness of play with care and respect for each individual, in a safe environment.

Clowning puts the heart back at the centre of life to reclaim and celebrate its paradoxes, revealing the light and shadows of our world as well as affirming and celebrating our humanity.
12 places.
