'Meat' by Matt Harris, Albany Theatre, Deptford, London, 15 - 18 November 2010.

My latest play, directed by Vernon Douglas; an adaptation of a little known Tennessee Williams' short story, 'Desire and the Black Masseur', is an experimental, magic-realist piece that I have been asked to develop over the last couple of years. It summarises like this...

After rejecting his female boss’ advances, Ashley suffers guilt and anxiety about his repressed desires. He
falls asleep at work and embarks on a journey of self-discovery with Lloyd, his
black colleague and real focus of passion.yes"">

As his new identity emerges, Ashley’s journey turns into a dark battle for his soul.

So far, we are giving the production an airing for performances on the dates above.
