Mid Wales Opera is seeking a new Development Director to take forward the work of this well-established mid-scale touring opera company, working closely with the General Manager, Board and the Artistic Director, Nicholas Cleobury.

The role would suit someone already working in the field of opera or arts management more generally who can commit to two days per week

The appointment will initially be for a fixed 12-18 month term contract from Spring 2015.

The role would suit someone already working in the field of opera or arts management more generally who can commit to two days per week (or 100-150 days over the contract) to lead Mid Wales Opera through to the next Arts Council Wales (ACW) Review of the Company’s portfolio status (due in 2015/16). We will consider a part-time appointment or a freelance contract for someone with an established freelance portfolio. Once the outcome of the ACW review is known, it is our intention to re-establish a full-time post of Executive Director including both strategic and operational responsibilities.

The postholder need not be based in Mid Wales in this interim period though regular travel to the office/production base would be required.
