Soooo I'm coming towards the end of my time in Edinburgh but after days like today you don't want your trip to end.

I started the day with Bootworks 'The incredible book eating boy' which I must say I think is the perfect way to start your day in Edinburgh. The show is a children's show that last about 5 mins it can only be viewed one at a time unless your a parent and child in which case you are both allowed in. This show is a real treat combining mask work puppetry and animation and really catches your imagination. You really do feel the show has been made entirely for you and I must admit I felt sort of naughty getting to watch something that nobody else could see. I really enjoyed Bootworks offering last year as well '30 days to space'. The stars that where drawn during the project can still be seen in Forest Cafe. Bootworks create really fun pieces that do capture your imagination so please try at get to Henrys  room at Pleasance Court Yard tickets can be bought on the door and it runs every 5 mins.

After that good start we went to the flat to have lunch before heading back to Pleasance Court Yard for 2401 Objects by Analogue. A really good show really engaging and with a very different subject mater. It is all about the importance of one man's brain. The technical aspects of this performance really impressed me and there use of projection was brilliant. I would recommend going to see this show although at the end I was left unsure of if I wanted to clap or not, this wasn't because of the performance but more because of it's subject matter.

We then headed to the Traverse to catch up with all the NTW crowd working on the Dark Philosophers show. Had a good chat with Matt about what he and we had been up to I'm really getting excited about going to see the show now as I didn't get a chance to see it in Newport. Unfortunately we couldn't stay for the press photo shoot as we had to head across Edinburgh to watch Bryony Kimmings '7 Day Drunk'.

Bryony Kimmings is another favourite of mine. Her show 'Sex Idiot' last year was one of my picks of the festival and a total theatre award winner so this show had a high bar to hit. I have to say I was not disappointed with the show. Bryony works with the crowd amazingly and you can't help but feel a fondness for her. This show was brilliant cutting between video and live performance and ending in a big dance on stage for the entire audience and Bryony. I really enjoyed the show and left with a Huge smile on my face. It is on at 20.00 in Assembly 3 well worth a watch although it is on the exact same time as Shock N Awe's 'Muscle' so while your up make sure you are hear at least 2 nights so that you can enjoy both of these brilliant shows.

After Bryony time for some dinner so off we went for deep fried pizza and chips before heading back to Pleasance for Vive Le Cabaret. Now at the start of the show our MC said it is being said that 2011 is the year for cabaret at the fringe, if this is true it is only for the cabaret act's shows not these cabaret events showcasing small parts of peoples shows. Although there are good moments this is the second time a event like this has not really engaged it's audience and cabaret with a dead audience is not an enjoyable experience.

In a last ditch effort to end the night on a high we stopped by Forest Cafe on the way home where there was a blues band on who appeared to of got to the point of the night where they were jamming which was really enjoyable and chilled out but only confirmed that the day was done we had peaked with our theatre earlier in the day and now everything just felt a little flat. So back to the flat where @ameliaforsbrook went to bed and I stayed Up blogging and video editing.

Please check out the NTW youtube channel for recaps of the day and check out some of the interviews we have conducted while up in Edinburgh. Follow us on twitter @ameliaforsbrook and @dextartuk.
