NYAW | CCIC Opportunity: Become a Trustee | Dod yn Ymddiriedolwr

We’re currently recruiting Trustees to join the Board, and we anticipate appointing at least four trustees at this time (of which two will be aged 18-25 at the time of appointment).

This is both to expand the board, and to replace trustees who are approaching the end of their appointed terms.

The full Board currently meets five times a year. Meetings are held in Cardiff with some Trustees joining remotely via Zoom. The Finance and General Purposes Sub-Committee, currently with four appointed Trustees, also meets separately five times a year to scrutinise the organisation’s financial performance, fundraising, HR and operations.

There will be further opportunities for supporting the work of NYAW through advocacy, and through advising NYAW’s executive team on an informal basis on your areas of expertise.

In addition, Trustees are offered complimentary tickets to NYAW’s public performances.

Terms of office for Board Members are usually two, three-year terms, serving for a maximum of six years.

How to Apply

To express an interest in becoming a Trustee, please send a CV and brief covering letter to nyaw@nyaw.org.uk. The deadline for this round of recruitment is Friday 28 April 2023.

We’re particularly keen to receive expressions of interest from:

  • Welsh speakers

  • People living or working in mid/north Wales

  • People from the Global Majority, and / or people living with a disability, who are currently under-represented in Wales’s creative sectors

To legally become a charity trustee, you must not be disqualified by law from serving as a company director or charity trustee (for example, if you have an unspent conviction for certain offences, if you have been bankrupt, or if you’ve previously been removed from a public office). If you think this might apply but would like further guidance, please contact us in confidence to discuss your individual case.
