"Old Wolf learns new trick" to the power of 2

Greetings from the rehearsal room of "What's the Time, Mr. Wolf?" (Ahem, quick plug - Porter's Bar, Cardiff, 14/15&17th July, 7pm ;)

This has been a whole new adventure for me. I've performed this show MANY times over the last couple of years, getting ever more comfortable with his ways & motivations etc. So it has been fascinating to get into a rehearsal room to re-rehearse for this year's shows with a totally new Director.

Working with Lisa Wells-Turner is proving to be even more fruitful than I anticipated. There's nothing like a fresh pair of eyes & ears to question the, let's face it,routines of interpretations that one can get into when performing the same piece over a long period of time. Lisa has been fantastic at challenging my assumptions about the character, helping me to dig deeper into who he is & spending time working with me on the aspects of him where maybe I hadn't explored all the options.

We're heading for an end result where somethings have altered, others remain, but with a greater understanding & confidence in the descisions taken.

I could've re-rehearsed this piece on my own & put on a good show. I'm very glad I've chosen to work with Lisa instead. We've got a show that's refreshed, more alive than ever &, if I was excited about showing this work to Cardiff before, now I really can't wait to share it.
