India/Wales Exchange
Fio is looking for 4 mixed discipline artists to participate in an India Wales R&D residency.
From 27th November - 10th December 2017, Welsh artists will be going to India where they will be devising a new piece/s of work, whilst developing new skills in collaboration with 4 Indian artists. The work created will be shared at the Europe Asia Roundtable Sessions, hosted by our partners, The Mumbai Assembly in December. There is also the potential for further sharing of the work across other venues in Mumbai. The overarching theme the R&D will explore is ‘Displacement’.
In January, there will be a residency exchange with the Indian artists who will visit Wales to further develop the R&D work created in India with their Welsh cohort. All participants will have the opportunity to attend, artistic development workshops led by experienced arts practitioners to further develop their artistic practice. This phase will conclude with a performance to an invited audience.
