Wales Graduate Theatre Company

Today’s blog is written by Vivienne Buckley (Director)

The piece is now up and running, after only 5 full days of rehearsing. We ran on Friday, and both Matthew and I were really pleased with the amount of work we had already created. This weekend has seen us really focus on the detail and structure of the scenes containing the core group of actors.

We are all really excited that the rest of the cast will be joining us tomorrow at 10.00am. The ensemble actors have been confirmed as Michael Aubin (RWCMD), Dan Absalom (RWCMD), David Gwyn (GSA), Jordan Piles (RWCMD), Tom Ryan (RWCMD) and Tom Veasey (GSA). Taking the total number of graduates involved in this project to an impressive 15.

Tomorrow will see us begin the choreography of the opening sequence, as well as moving the set to the theatre.

The Production Crew have been amazing this weekend, taking on a painting challenge fit for a crew twice the size! The results of the ‘beg, borrow and borrow’ mission are remarkable. It’s amazing what those girls can get people to donate, from sofas to window frames to action men. Ladies, it is greatly appreciated!

We have only two days left at the Metropolitan University and a lot of new material to create, but I have no doubt that this group of talented young people will come up with the goods, and lots more!

‘Out of the Goldfish Bowl’, performs at the Taliesin Arts Centre on Thursday 10th September at 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale. Please call the box office today (01792 602060). We would also like you to join us at the Launch Party, which is taking place at ‘Moloko’ in Wind Street after the performance.
