PeerGrouP and NTW Artists Residency in Powys

Theatre company PeerGrouP from the Netherlands have been working with NTW to deliver a five day artists residency in and around Rhayader in Powys, which PeerGrouP call a Diversion. Eights artists from the UK, including four from Powys and two artists from the Netherlands have been working with PeerGrouP to start to explore, think about and develop how they may work site specifically, especially in a Rural setting, which PeerGrouP mostly works in.

The artists have truly been embedded within the community of Rhayder, spending the first evening of the residency in a community members home, getting to know the place through its people. The artist then spent sometime getting to know the place, visiting the nearby Elan Valley dam system. After that each artist spent time helping out community members in their jobs, these jobs ranged from a blacksmith to a park ranger to a hedge trimmer/grower.

Over the next two days the ten artists will be developing an idea that will be shared with the rest of the group, members of the community and you.

If you’d like to see what the artists have created then please come to Cwmdauddwr Village Hall, Rhayader, Powys, LD6 5AR at 11am on Saturday 16th November.
