Nascondere Gioca Camera 2014 / Dear John

Dear John by L.M.H.C documents the Research and Development project Nascondere: Gioca Camera / HIDE: The Play Room awarded by Arts Council of Wales in February 2014. During the project, performers Jo Fong, Rosalind Brooks, Eddie Ladd and choreographer Deborah Light, installed choreography from the performance HIDE (http://deborahlight.com/) inside two old, empty listed buildings in Cardiff. What I witnessed through the lens was not a re-staging of HIDE as the existing performance, but a spontaneous, improvised re-imagining of it.

Visually I am interested in women's relation to space and her interaction with their boundaries; I am interested in the way that layers can configure new meanings, narratives or motivations...

I would like to send my heartfelt thanks to the wonderful Nascondere team: Rosalind Brooks, John Collingswood, Jo Fong, Eddie Ladd and Deborah Light; the great Kyriacos Asprou who owns the beautiful buildings; Siriol Joyner, for her encouragement and support with my ACW application; Polly Crossley (with much love); and Arts Council of Wales (http://www.artswales.org.uk/)
