Reading Aloud for International Women's Day

CALLING ALL WOMEN AND GIRLS!

Come and help fill the foyer of National Museum Wales Cardiff with women’s voices to celebrate the 100th International Women’s Day.

Saturday 5th March

2011

12 noon – 12.30 pm

FLARE!

All women and girls are invited to share their favourite writings by women. Bring a book (prose, poetry, philosophy, science – whatever you love) to the Museum foyer for 11.45 am.

At 12 noon those taking part will begin reading OUT LOUD at the same time, filling the space with women’s words and voices, making alive and aloud a celebration of the achievements of women everywhere.

Add your voice as we become a community reading aloud women’s words as part of this global centenary celebration.

Alternatively, come and enjoy this event by listening – everyone very welcome!

This is a Flare! event.  At exactly the same time throughout Wales – and much further afield too – happenings of all sorts set up for women by women will be taking place to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.
